For the month of February, our students honored Black History Month by exploring powerful messages of culture, creativity, and unity.
Students learned about the vibrant artwork of Reggie Laurent, studying his bold colors, intricate patterns, and storytelling through art. Inspired by his style, they created their own meaningful pieces that celebrate heritage, identity, and community.
They also reflected on the powerful words by Ola Joseph:
"Diversity is not about how we differ. Diversity is about embracing one another’s uniqueness."
Through a collaborative handprint project, students expressed what makes them unique—filling their designs with colors, symbols, and creativity that represent who they are. Together, their artwork reminds us that our differences make us stronger.
We are incredibly proud of our students for their creativity, thoughtfulness, and commitment to celebrating diversity and culture. Black History Month is not only about learning history—it’s about honoring voices, uplifting stories, and embracing the beauty within our community every day.
